Dexter can talk! Well, at least, he can say mama! (Or Momma if you are American). And since he learned this new word last week, he has been using it to great effect - any time he is slightly upset or wants something, it’s the first word out of his mouth. (Indeed, it’s the only word out of his mouth). He’ll repeat it until he either gets what he wants, or gets distracted and forgets what he wants.

Dexter acquired his first two teeth last weekend. They took us completely by surprise - the week before he was toothless, and then all of a sudden he got two at once.

Pooh Bear passed away late Saturday afternoon, 17 July 2010. She weighed 4 1/2lbs, and had stopped eating after a bladder infection. Age unknown (though we think she was probably 19 years old), she was found as a kitten in (we think 1990/91) by Megan & Shawna, who brought her into the bathroom and then called their mother at work to let her know. Megan & I took Pooh Bear in May 2008, and she lived out her retirement years as cranky as ever, but secretly happy with all the Fancy Feast she could eat (which wasn’t that much). She will be missed.

At 8.43am CST this morning (Wed 20th Jan 2010), Megan gave birth to Dexter James Murphy. Weighing in at 3.495kg and 49cm long, he’s perfectly healthy in every way.

Megan’s due date has officially arrived. And with only have 1 day left before the baby comes, we’re very very excited!

Megan is to be induced on Monday, so if the baby doesn’t arrive before then, he’ll be arriving shortly after!

Only 2 weeks until our baby’s due date! Megan is fairly sure he’s going to arrive early, but I’m hoping he doesn’t arrive until at least next weekend!

Megan will be getting a 2nd ultrasound in December in order to check on the position of her unborn baby (due January 17th). We’re looking forward to another glimpse of him before we get to meet him in person!
